Joymoti Assamese Movie


Joymoti or Joimoti (Assameseজয়মতী), released on 10 March 1935, was the first Assamese film made. Based on Lakshminath Bezbaroa's play about the 17th-century Ahom princess Soti Joymoti, the film was produced and directed by the noted Assamese poet, author, and film-maker Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, and starred Aideu Handiqueand acclaimed stage actor and playwright Phani Sarma. The film, shot between 1933 and 1935,[1] was released by Chitralekha Movietone in 1935 and marked the beginning of Assamese cinema.
Joymoti was screened at the 50th International Conference of the Society For Cinema and Media Studies (SCMC) of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in March 2011.[2]

It must be noted here that this film is one of the most big budget movie and is accordingly also planned to be made available in Hindi dubbing too where its name stands as 'Pal Pal Doley Mann'.

Borolar Ghor (Assameseবৰলাৰ ঘৰBachelor’s House) is a 2012 bilingual Assamese-Bengali romantic comedy film starring Utpal Das and Debasmita Banerjee in the lead roles. The film was directed and produced by Mani C. Kappan under the banner of Okay Productions. This film was the remake of 1993 superhit Malayalam filmMeleparambil Aanveedu, which was also produced by Kappan under the same production house. Noted Assamese filmmaker Manju Borah acted as an advisor in the film.

Basundhara Assamese Movie 2014


Basundhara (Assameseবসুন্ধৰা, English: The Earth) is a 2010 Assamese drama film directed and produced by Hiren Bora, with a screenplay by Sagar Sangam Sarkar, Birinchi Kumar Medhi and Bora himself. It stars Barsha Rani Bishaya in the title role, and Saurav Hazarika, Bishnu Kharghoria, Ifftikar Ahmed, and Prithiraj Rabha in other major roles. The film deals with a pressing contemporary ecological issue of human-elephant conflict in the region of Assam.

Raag (Assameseৰাগ, English: The Rhythm of Love) is a 2014 Assameselanguage drama film, starring Adil Hussain and Zerifa Wahid in the lead roles. The film was directed by Rajni Basumatary and produced by Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation Limited in association with Manna Films. The film was initially released on 7 February 2014 in the state of Assam and later on 7 March 2014 in selected theaters across rest of Indiavia PVR Director's Rare.

Bir Chilarai Assamese Movie | Film


Bir Chilarai, the much awaited movie of the year directed by Samarendra Narayan Dev and produced by Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation Limited (ASFFDCL) under the banner of Darrang House Production had its premier today at Anuradha Cinema Complex, Guwahati. Samarendra Narayan Dev previously had directed Aranya (1971), Putala Ghar (1976), Sonor Horin (1979), Kazirangar Kahini (1982), and Raja (1982).


Rodor Chithi Assamese Movie | Film


Alternative Cinematic,' a production house based on Guwahati, is going to produce a new Assamese feature film titled "Rodor Chithi" (ৰ'দৰ চিঠি). After the first film "Aachene Kunuba Hiyat," Baharul Islam will direct this film. The story of the film is based on the the director's play "Ximar Xipare." Zubeen Garg and Angaraag Mahanta will act together in the film and music will be directed by Zubeen Garg. Mahurat of the film was held on 7th April at Seagull Studio Theatre, Zoo Road, Guwahati. Shooting will start from 8th April at Cherrapunji, Meghalaya.

Mane Mor Kaina Bisare Assamese Movie | Film


Sadananda Gogoi directed "Mone Mur Koina Bisare" got released this Friday (15th March) all over Assam in 23 screens. This film features Neil Das, Bhargab Das, Nishita Goswami and Aimee Barua in the lead roles. The premier show of the film was held on 10th March at Gold Cinema, Narengi. Much awaited action packed film "Ranangan" got a release date. It is now going to release on 19th April 2013. In the mean time it also got censored as "U" certificate. The censor board asked to use "baby" instead of "sexy" in the Prastuti Parasr starrer item number "I am sexy, very crazy."

Durjan Assamese Movie | Film


New Assamese Movie "Durjan" is now in editing table after completing its shooting. The film features a salsa dance which is for the first time in Assamese Movie. There is also a Holi song in the movie choreographed by Pankaj Engti. This new film is directed and  written by a newcomer Moupran Sarma. Anuradha is an upcoming Assamese film starring Meghranjani and Diganta Hazarika in the lead roles.[1] Director of this film is Rakesh Sharma . Anupam baishya is the chief assistant director while Anindita Kalita is assistant director. The film is produced by Luit Kumar Barman under the banner of M L Entertainment and Cine Dream Unlimited. The film will be released on Assam on 2014.

The film is about the life of four unemployed educated youths from lower-middle-class families ofTinsukiaAssam who are entangled by their own misfortunes. The film is among 20 outstanding feature films of the country selected for Indian Panorama 2008 and shown in the 39th International Film Festival of India 2008 in Goa held from November 22 to December 2.
